BLUE LISA & ANDREA DAWSON TO RECORD WITH KM WILLIAMS

Something very cool is going on this weekend.

After his appearance In March of this year with Washboard Jackson (Collectively they are known as Trainreck) at the South by Southwest Festival, KM Williams has been signed to a record deal with Dialtone Records out of Austin.

KM has invited me and Andrea Dawson to sing with him on 3 cuts for the CD. I couldn't be more excited! I am thrilled my friend has this new opportunity to record and reach an even wider audience, and I am honored he has asked me to be a part of it. Andrea and I have worked up harmony parts for the three songs.

We go to the studio this Saturday. Be watching for news of the CD release party, tentatively scheduled for September of this year.

Over the 10+ years I have had the pleasure of hosting BIG TEXAS BLUES, loyal KNON listeners from Ft. Worth have repeatedly asked me "Why do you do all your blues benefits in Dallas? When are you going to do one in Ft. Worth?" Well, after a couple of years of trying to work that out, it's finally going to happen - Saturday, March 13th I'll be hosting the the 1st KNON Ft. A LOUSY WAY TO END 2009

Just wanted to share this message from Hash Brown, who had equipment stolen from his van IN HIS OWN BACK YARD on 12/30.

He's taking the zen approach about it - "...happy to be in a new year and a new decade and looking forward to it." , but this kind of stuff really pisses me off. It's not like any of us are getting rich playing the blues. Hell, thanks to the lousy economy and cutbacks in gigs, it's damn near becoming a labor of love - for the love only. Some gutless moron stealing the tools of your trade is high on the scale of evil for me.
