DALLAS / FT WORTH / N TEXAS LIVE BLUES 1/14/16 THRU 1/20/16

This week we said a sudden and sad goodbye to David Bowie. He lived his life as an ever evolving work of art, and managed to turn own death into art as well with the poignant timing of the release of his album "Blackstar", it is said, as a last gift to his fans. I'm impressed by that level of commitment to his work and his fans. He may not have been a Blues guy, but he knew a great Blues guitarist when he heard one. And he certainly helped push SRV's career to a higher level. Which fueled the Blues resurgence of the 80's. If you don't know that story, you can read about it here.

 The stars indeed look very different today.

Come celebrate the joy of the season as KNON 89.3 FM gives back to our community with our 1st (I hope) Annual Toy Drive benefiting Children's Medical Center. Children's Medical Center is very dear to my own heart, because they saved the life of my niece and sometimes co-host Miss Amanda several times when she was a tiny tot with horrible asthma. 

Bring a new, unwrapped toy, meet your favorite KNON DJ's (I myself will be there between 10am - 1pm), enjoy live music, partake of some cookies and hot chocolate and tour the new studio! 

All this happens NEXT Sunday, December 20th, but you can bring your toys this week to either of my gigs - Thursday at Nate's Seafood in Addison or Saturday at The Alligator Cafe in Deep Ellum, Dallas.
