The fest they told me couldn't happen - happening AGAIN for the 4th year in a row! (Tee-hee-hee! I LOVE being right!) And I'm thrilled to once again serve as your hostess for the festivities
We're back in Fort Party Worth with the Blues event of the year. And we heard you - you said you wanted a bigger, better venue, so this year we're holding it at the very wonderful and smoke free Live Oak Music Hall. Not only a beautiful room, but spectacular acoustics. Check them out at their web site: www.theliveoak.com
And this year our official sponsor is Kinky Freedman's Man In Black Tequila! I can't think of a better mix - hot blues and smooth tequila! Man In Black Tequila representatives will be on hand offering tasting samples for those 21 years of age and older - check them out at www.maninblacktequila.com
Doors open at 3pm, and music starts right away - the line up and performance times are on the poster above. There will be food for sale and a raffle for this custom KNON guitar, donated by the fine folks at Kona Guitars www.konaguitars.com :
What a GREAT way to spend your Sunday afternoon - get in early, witness the spectacular line up of Blues Artists, have some dinner (food will be for sale), maybe win yourself a new guitar, and get home in time to catch the late news and not be out so late you have to call in sick on Monday!
You know you wanna go - so get your tickets NOW at www.KNON.org, at Forever Young Records in Grand Prairie, or at Record Town in Fort Worth (tell Sumter Blue Lisa says Hi!).
SEE YOU THERE!!!!
Insider Info: The kick-ass drummer for Robert Johnson's Soul, Andre' Avelar, was my drummer back in the 80's during my road warrior Rock & Roll days with my band Twice Shy. And if you look at the upcoming acts at the Live Oak, you'll see that Slobberbone is playing the Saturday after the fest - the 30th. Their bass player, Brian Lane, was my bass player in the same road band when Andre' was my drummer. Talk about your past catching up with you!
