I hope you have enjoyed the all Blueswomen version of Big Texas Blues I've brought you on KNON 89.3 FM this Month of March 2014 in honor of Women's History Month as much as I've enjoyed bringing it to you. Thanks to all of you who have called in and asked about songs that I played that you were hearing for the very first time, whether they were new releases by contemporary Blueswomen or gems from the classic Blueswomen of the 20's. Truth be told, the first commercially viable blues came from not the men, but the Bluewomen of the 1920's. They were the ones fronting and running the big money making shows. If Eric Clapton had been a woman (Erica Clapton?), and covered "Wild Women Don't Have The Blues" instead of "Crossroads" Ida Cox would be the legend Robert Johnson is thought of today. Makes you think. I hope it does anyhow. Don't ever stop thinking. And now, on with the blues....
